Take Reinhardt and Okposo and give Buffalo Seattle's #1 pick (#2 Overall). Should Buffalo throw in a 2nd Round pick to sweeten the deal?
Thoughts?

Nothing wrong with SAm Reinhart but this doesn't come close to getting you the second overall pick.

Thought:
Bad trade proposal. You wouldn't get the 2nd overall pick for Sam Reinhart by himself, let alone for a guy with a putrid contract an a miles-long injury history |

I saw something down the line of Foudy and Korpisalo for Reinhart

I believe when Ryan Whitney, who says he's good buddies with Eichel, will go to LA.
But whoever mentioned Anaheim, that's an interesting possibility as well. |

LA I believe is no longer interested in an Eichel trade. It’s been reported by different people. |

Why would they do this? - mattstake
Who is "they" ?
Sabres? - Because Sam doesnt want to be in Buffalo anymore
Seattle? - He is a pretty solid NHL forward to start building a team around

I misread it at first...I thought you meant Buffalo would GIVE Seattle their 1st round pick for taking Okposo. Which actually made some sense, but a bit overpayment.
Then I realized you meant Buffalo GETS the 1st round pick |

There are not that many teams that can fit a $10.5M cap hit in a flat-cap world. Between that, the relationship between player and org eroding, and Eichel's injury concerns....BUF doesn't have a particularly large amount of leverage here. They are in a no-win situation. |

And do you have a response to that? Or am I just supposed to accept that you're totally correct without getting any context?
Eichel having injury issues is a fact
The eroding relationship is a fact
The cap being flat for the next 3 years or so is a fact
There aren't a ton of teams that can fit his cap hit easily

There's a disconnect, they haven't given any team permission to talk with Jack. They are working together on the next steps in his recovery. He hasn't asked for a trade, atleast not that anyone has heard. And there are plenty of teams that can take on his contract, especially if the Sabres take back a contract. |
